Business Manager's Message

 

The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic is a crisis without president.  Our Executive Board’s main concern has been to protect the Health and Safety of our Members and their Families whether it be on the job or at home.

Unfortunately that has included cancelling a number of General Meetings due to Covid-19 restrictions, gatherings and social distancing.

Alongside this we have seen a massive economic disruption from reduced work hours and cancelation of Industrial and Commercial jobs and Layoffs.  We are in uncharted territory and as a Union we will navigate the challenges together.  Both Offices, Edmonton and Calgary are open and we are still fully staffed and phone lines are open.

We have been working with other Building Trades and our Signatory General Contractors to identify and address the concerns, specific to each workplace.   If you have any issues you would like to address or need some assistance weather it is Covid related or not, please do not hesitate to contact us.
